Stewardship Sunday: Invasive Species Removal and Native Planting
09 Feb

Join us this Stewardship Sunday for a morning of removing invasive species around the preserve, and planting new native plants grown in our own native plant nursery!

Invasive plants pose a threat to both native plants, that aren’t able to compete with them for resources, as well as the native animals that rely on these plants for their habitats and food sources. That’s why we prioritize invasive species management on-site, and invite you to join us in doing so this Sunday!

FREE volunteer opportunity, welcome to all! Advance registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome if supplies and space remain.

Prepare to spend your time in the sun walking on uneven terrain, and keep in mind your feet always have the potential to get wet. Please note the sand gets hot. Please come prepared with sun protection, a reusable water bottle, and bug spray if needed. Closed toe shoes are required, and long sleeves and pants are encouraged.

*Light to moderate physical activity.

*Recommended for ages 8+, all youth under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
